Ben and Louise, when you live and work in one of the world’s most breathtaking places, where do you choose to go on holiday?
”We generally just go home and visit family and friends,” laughs Louise Lanyon who, together with husband Ben, manages Kangaroo Island’s spectacular Southern Ocean Lodge. The dynamic duo – who have worked in some of Australia’s best luxury lodges – rate Southern Ocean Lodge as their favourite. “It’s an amazing place; an iconic Australian destination,” Ben says. And while Kangaroo Island is known to most European travellers heading Down Under, the couple say there are still plenty of Australians who have no idea where Kangaroo Island is – something the Lanyons are working hard to change. “About 50% of our market are domestic travellers that are seeking the types of quality experiences that Baillie Lodges provides,” Ben says.
